The 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics finished in dramatic fashion with Canada beating Team U-S-A in the gold medal hockey game three-to-two in sudden-death overtime. Canada led most of the game, but the U-S tied the score in regulation with less than a minute remaining. After pulling goalie Ryan Miller for an extra attacker, Zach Parise scored with 24-point-four seconds remaining. It was all for naught, though, as Sidney Crosby scored the winning goal for Canada seven-minutes-and-40-seconds into overtime, bringing gold to the home country and ending the U-S's dream of another "Miracle on Ice."

Overall, the U-S won the total medal count with 37, but Canada had the most gold with 14.

The death toll in Chile's killer quake, which hit Saturday and measured eight-point-eight, has risen to more than 700. Hit hardest was the seaside resort Constitucion where approximately 400 died after the quake and a subsequent tsunami. Chilean President Michelle Bachelet called the quake "a catastrophe of such unthinkable magnitude that it will require a giant effort for Chile to recover."

BAD BOYS, BAD BOYS

According to a new study, women like guys with the dark personality traits of narcissism, thrill-seeking and deceitfulness.

In other words, women gravitate toward dangerous liars who are in love with themselves.

Researcher Peter Jonason believes that these traits may be genetic, which would explain why some guys seem unable to stop themselves from behaving badly.

The study also found that men with these traits are likely to have a larger number of sexual affairs -- which means the genes keep getting passed on to more and more generations.

That's bad news for nice guys because the jerks seem to be multiplying ...

TAX JUNK FOOD

According to a new study from the University of Buffalo, taxing junk food would cause people to purchase healthy foods -- and supposedly cut the obesity rate.

The researchers found that raising the price of junk food was more effective at getting the test subjects to buy healthy foods than was cutting the price of those healthy foods.
