Reports show a Lafayette County woman has pled guilty to a pair of charges for severely neglecting her children. At a hearing Thursday, 27-year-old Jamie Lee Weigel of Belmont entered her plea to a felony count of child abuse and a felony count of chronic neglect of a child. Two additional counts were dismissed through the plea agreement. Weigel is set to be sentenced on December 10th. The father of the two young girls – 26-year-old Dalton Hopper – faces child neglect charges as well. He has a plea hearing set for October 21st. The investigation began after a physician assistant reported the neglect when the parents brought their younger daughter to Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville.
