A woman who helped plan a robbery that led to a fatal shooting says a former Dubuque man convicted in the case was unaware of plans to rob 21 year old Collin Brown in 2016. Brown’s father says he is conflicted over the sentence given to the man. Iowa District Court Judge Michael Shubatt heard testimony Tuesday from 23 year old Corby Yager of Dubuque as 22 year old Imere Hall seeks to overturn his convictions of first- degree murder and first-degree robbery for his involvement in the April 2016 robbery at Key West during which Brown was killed. Yager testified on Tuesday that she and Eric Campbell planned the robbery. And she didn’t know Imere Hall was going to be involved. Meanwhile, Charles Brown, the father of Collin Brown said he was conflicted over the sentence that Hall received. He felt it wasn’t fair that Campbell got 35 years in prison and Imere Hall got life in prison.
