A Dubuque man had to be air-lifted to an Iowa City hospital following a crash early Tuesday – after he led authorities on a high-speed chase. A report says 32-year-old Ryan Steil was ejected from his vehicle about 5am in rural Jackson County. Sheriff’s deputies say the pursuit began at around 3:30 in Dubuque County before crossing into Jackson County. Steil’s vehicle went into the ditch on Centerville Road and rolled twice before throwing him from the vehicle. He was taken to University of Iowa Hospital with serious injuries. Authorities say charges are pending against Steil and an investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
