Dubuque Man Threatens To Kill His Mother With Hammer

Police say a Dubuque man on Saturday threatened to kill his mother with a hammer. 22 year old Cory Jones was arrested at about 6:35 p.m. Saturday at his residence on charges of domestic assault while displaying or using a weapon and first-degree harassment. His next court hearing is set for June 2. Reports say that officers responded to Jones’ residence Saturday after his aunt, 45 year old Jolene Hines of Bernard, received a text message from her sister 49 year old Tara Jones, who is Cory Jones’ mother and had been staying with him. The text message included a threat that Cory Jones was going to hit Tara Jones in the head with a hammer and kill her.
