More people are getting back to work – that’s according to data from state department of workforce development offices. The latest reports for Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin show unemployment rates dropping by an average of 2-percent in the tri-states. From June to July, the jobless rate in Grant County fell by 2.1-percent to about 5-percent. Iowa and Lafayette Counties saw decreases of 1.8-to-1.9-percent. Iowa County’s jobless rate is 5.7-percent – while Lafayette County sits at roughly 4-percent. Dubuque County’s unemployment fell by around 2-percent, to report a 7-percent rate in July. And Jo Daviess County has one of the highest jobless rates in the area at 8.4-percent, but also had one of the largest drops in unemployment last month – decreasing by 2.5-percent.
