Officials at Southwest Tech have shifted another program to a virtual learning format. That’s after the college learned a student attending face to face classes tested positive for COVID-19. The school released a statement Wednesday saying they’re taking the precautionary measure of temporarily changing the format for Southwest Tech students in the Electro-Mechanical Technology program. College officials also said the move to virtual instruction is a short-term response allowing education to continue while students isolate after an exposure incident. The plan is to resume face-to-face instruction after two weeks for that program. Southwest Tech had announced last week that another program at the school was being shifted to a virtual format due to a possible COVID-19 exposure. Officials did not say a week ago which program was affected.
