Officials at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County and Primary Care Clinics have initiated visitor restrictions effective today (Wed, Sept 23). A statement from the healthcare facility said the move is to protect the safety of patients, staff and the community amid this pandemic. Staff will be reminding patients of the visitor restriction to ensure they’re aware of it. Essential support persons will be allowed for pediatric patients, patients who have an Activated Power of Attorney and other situations. The support person will be screened to ensure they do not have any signs or symptoms of COVID before entering. These visitor restrictions at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County are temporary –and may change as their staff monitors the COVID-19 pandemic.
