WAUWATOSA, Wis. — The 15-year-old boy accused of shooting eight people at Mayfair Mall last week made an initial appearance in court Tuesday.
According to WDJT-TV, the teen was charged with eight counts of first-degree reckless injury while armed with a dangerous weapon and one count of possession of a dangerous weapon for someone under the age of 18. He was not charged as an adult, as the boy’s hearing was held in children’s court.
The teen’s attorneys argued he should be released and put on GPS monitoring, but the request was denied.
A total of three people have been arrested in connection with the shooting, but only the 15-year-old has been charged as of Tuesday night.
