MADISON, Wis. — Nearly 100 more Wisconsinites have died of coronavirus complications since Monday afternoon, according to state and county health officials.
At least 3,484* deaths have been confirmed since the start of the pandemic, with an additional 98 deaths reported Tuesday.
The state Department of Health Services said 277 more people were hospitalized, though 15% of the state’s hospital beds remain available for new patients.
After seeing days of gradual decline, the seven-day rolling average for new tests by person has grown to 30.1%, while the seven-day equivalent for total tests by day is at 13%.

There were 3,906* new cases of the virus Tuesday. That count is almost identical to the average cases confirmed over the last seven days, which is at 3,905. The state’s lifetime total has reached 391,539*, and more than 68,000 of those cases remain active.
On Tuesday, the principal of Madison East High School honored the student who died of COVID-19 complications over Thanksgiving break.
