CAMBRIA, Wis. — Operations at the Didion Milling plant in Cambria have been paused following the death of an employee, according to a spokesperson for the company.
Columbia County officials spent numerous hours Tuesday searching for a 52-year-old Waupun man who was reported missing that morning. His body was later recovered from a grain silo at the facility.
The spokesperson said operations will resume once employees have had more time to process the incident. Didion said a counselor is available on-site for workers, and the company also has 24/7 access to an employee assistance hotline.
The company has been in close contact with the victim’s family and is “being supportive in every way possible during this difficult time.”
The man’s name has not been released as of Wednesday afternoon.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
