MADISON, Wis. — Madison police are looking for a woman connected to an attempted robbery on the city’s north side.
According to an incident report, a person was walking on Green Avenue toward Knutson Drive on Tuesday afternoon around 12:30 p.m. when a woman ran across the street to be right in front of her on the sidewalk.
The report said the woman held a hammer over her head and demanded that the walker gave her their wallet.
Police said the victim was able to pepper spray the woman who then ran off toward Knutson Drive.
The victim went home and called police, who said they checked the area and contacted area residents with video cameras pointed toward the sidewalks.
The woman has not been found, but police said she was wearing a blue sweatshirt.
