AVON TOWNSHIP, Wis. — An Illinois man suffered significant injuries Wednesday morning following a crash in Avon Township.
According to a news release, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 81 around 6 a.m.
The release said a car traveling northbound on County Highway TK T failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with another car, which was hit on its passenger side.
The driver of the car that failed to stop was identified as a 33-year-old Illinois man, who managed to exit his car before it caught on fire, but he did suffer “significant injuries.”
Officials said the driver of the car that was hit was a 63-year-old man who was pinned inside his car and had to be extricated.
Both men were taken by ambulance to Janesville Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville.
