MADISON, Wis. — Citywide snow plowing ended around midnight on Saturday, but roadway users should still expect slippery spots as crews continue sanding operations, according to the City of Madison.
Plowing operations began around 2 p.m. on Saturday and took around 10 hours to complete. After plowing was finished, crews applied sand on hills, curves, and intersections around Madison and pushed snow from the road to the curb in areas that couldn’t be plowed.
According to the City of Madison, the post-storm sanding operations are expected to be finished Sunday afternoon.
The city urges those planning on commuting on Monday morning to expect typical post-storm winter driving conditions and be aware of potential slippery patches. In residential areas, neighborhood streets are not salted, so many of them may have a hard packed layer of snow left on them following Saturday’s plowing, the city said.
