TOWN OF TROY, Wis. — Authorities have identified the man killed in a motorcycle crash Thursday afternoon in Sauk County.
Curtis E. Jackson Jr. 56, of Sun Prairie, died from the injuries he suffered in the crash, according to a release from the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.
Jackson was wearing a helmet and protective clothing at the time of the crash.
Deputies were dispatched to Highway 60 near Round River Trail in the town of Troy on Thursday.
An initial investigation and witness accounts revealed the motorcyclist was on the highway and did not complete a sweeping curve in the road. Officials said the motorcycle entered a ditch and overturned as a result, which caused the operator to be thrown from the vehicle.
Lifesaving measures were attempted, the release said.
The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Sauk Prairie Ambulance Service, Sauk City Fire Department, UW MedFlight, Sauk County Coroner’s Office and Everett’s Towing.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
