DODGEVILLE TOWNSHIP, Wis. — One person is in the hospital Friday night after a crash involving a semi truck in Iowa County, officials said.
Dispatchers received a report of a crash shortly after 7 p.m. on Highway 18/151 at the intersection of County Highway YZ in the township of Dodgeville. A news release said first responders arrived and discovered there was a collision between a car and semi truck.
The semi driver did not suffer any injuries, but the driver of the car was pinned inside the vehicle and needed to be extricated.
The driver, who was the only person in the car, suffered major injuries and was taken to the hospital. The person’s condition is unknown as of Friday night, and the names of those involved have not been released.
The crash resulted in lane closures that lasted roughly two hours while emergency crews were at the scene. Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
