MADISON, Wis. — Police arrested a man Thursday afternoon after he allegedly kicked in the door of a stranger’s apartment in the 2000 block of Packers Avenue.
According to an incident report, the suspect, 37-year-old George R. Staisil, followed the victim home from the North Transfer point. While the victim was on his way home, Staisil repeatedly asked him for money despite the victim’s repeated refusal.
When the victim returned home, Staisil said he wanted to come inside. The victim was able to get inside and lock the door, but Staisil kicked the door in, according to the report.
The victim called police, and Staisil ran from the scene.
Officers spotted Staisil in the 1900 block of Manley Street thanks to the victim’s description of him. Staisil ran from police, but officers caught up with him. A struggle ensued, and Staisil threatened to disarm one officer and injure others, the report said.
Staisil was subsequently taken to the Dane County jail on tentative charges of burglary, disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property, resisting arrest, battery or threat to law enforcement and felony bail jumping.
