MADISON, Wis. — Another 164 Wisconsinites have been hospitalized with COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, according to the state Department of Health Services.
Out of the 11,068 hospital beds throughout the state, 17% remain available for new patients as of Wednesday afternoon.
There have been 67 new deaths confirmed in Wisconsin, one day after the state had its highest single-day death total. At least 4,704* have died of coronavirus complications since the start of the pandemic.
State and county health officials recorded an additional 2,532* cases of the virus, which is below the seven-day rolling average of 2,685. Wisconsin has reached a lifetime total of 463,906* confirmed cases, and more than 34,000, or 7.3% of those remain active.
DHS officials said the seven-day positivity rate for new tests by person has slightly dropped to 26%, while the seven-day equivalent for total tests by day is at 9.2%.

President Donald Trump has suggested he might not sign the COVID-19 relief bill that Congress recently passed. Trump has instead asked Congress to amend the bill and increase the $600 payment to most Americans by at least twice as much.
