MADISON, Wis. — All COVID-19 vaccines and administration costs will be free to Wisconsinites, according to the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance.
In a bulletin posted to OCI’s website, officials said the Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act and a rule issued earlier this year require insurance providers to cover vaccination administration costs without cost sharing.
According to the bulletin, the rule applies even if a vaccine is administered by an out-of-network provider.
Officials said the requirements apply if a patient is receiving a single dose of a COVID-19 vaccine or a vaccine that requires multiple doses.
