MADISON, Wis. — The Madison man accused of killing his sister on Christmas Eve last year was told to stand trial.
According to court records, a preliminary hearing for 57-year-old Joseph Green was held in Dane County court Monday. The court entered a not guilty plea after Green stood mute, and he was later bound over for trial.
The man has been charged with fatally shooting 63-year-old Sheila Green of Madison. After allegedly shooting his sister, the criminal complaint said Green went back to his apartment, dropped the gun in a trash bin, called 911 and waited for police to arrive.
Green was originally found incompetent to stand trial in February, but records indicated he passed a competency evaluation last week.
