ROME, Wis. — A missing Rome woman who was found dead on Saturday died of hypothermia after her vehicle entered a ditch and became submerged in water.
The woman, Lindsay A. Folan, was found in the Town of Leola around 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
Officials with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday that Folan was traveling on a private road when her vehicle entered the ditch and took on water.
Folan was able to exit her vehicle and walk a short distance before she succumbed to the cold temperature, according to a news release.
The investigation into Folan’s death is ongoing. The ACSO, Town of Rome Police Department, Waushara County emergency medical services and the Adams County Medical Examiner’s Office are involved in the investigation.
