MADISON, Wis. — A woman allegedly bit a Madison police officer and spit on another when officers arrested her for stealing a vehicle following a disturbance at a west-side hotel overnight.
Police were first dispatched to the Hampton Inn Hotel shortly after midnight on Tuesday. When officers arrived, they were told that 21-year-old Nahrah Jaze C. Smith stole an employee’s vehicle after she caused a disturbance at the hotel.
Officers later found the stolen vehicle had been crashed into a tree. Smith fled the scene, but police later received a report that she was creating a disturbance at the Homewood Suites hotel.
While arresting Smith at the Homewood Suites hotel, she reportedly bit an officer in the leg and spit on another.
Smith was subsequently taken to the Dane County Jail on charges of resisting arrest causing injury, battery to law enforcement officer discharge of bodily fluid, operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent, first-offense OWI and a probation hold.
