MADISON, Wis. — Over 100 people in Wisconsin have been hospitalized with COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, according to the state Department of Health Services.
Health officials said 126 new hospitalizations were reported since Tuesday afternoon. With 11,028 hospital beds across the state, 20% are available for new patients.
At least 4,904* people have died of coronavirus complications since March, with 33 new deaths confirmed Wednesday.
The seven-day positivity rate for new tests by person went down slightly to 25.1%, while the seven-day equivalent for total tests by day saw a minor increase to 9.2%.

State and county health officials recorded 2,570* new cases of the virus Wednesday, which is higher than Tuesday’s count and the seven-day rolling average of 1,956. Wisconsin has reached an all-time total of 477,420* confirmed cases, and less than 6% of those cases remain active.
University Health Services in Madison has been approved to begin administering the COVID-19 vaccine for eligible members of the campus community.
