MADISON, Wis. — A total of 182 Dane County residents have died of coronavirus complications this year, according to Public Health Madison & Dane County.
Health officials released new data on the virus in a blog post Wednesday.
PHMDC said 123, or 68% of deaths have occurred since November. Of that total, two out of every three deaths were long term care facility residents. The median age of those who passed away was 86, and most were white and non-Latinx.
Public health officials said the COVID-19 death rate is significantly lower in Dane County compared to the state as a whole.
