KENOSHA, Wis. — The Kenosha Police Department announced in a Facebook post on Sunday morning that it is planning precautionary efforts ahead of the charging decision regarding the Aug. 23 shooting of Jacob Blake.
The post said Mayor John Antaramian and Police Chief Daniel Miskinis aim to ensure the safety of the public, neighborhoods, businesses and protestors following the announcement of the decision by Kenosha County District Attorney Michael Graveley.
Mayor Antaramian said the decision is likely to be announced within the first two weeks of January. He said he is working with Chief Miskinis and other partners to protect peaceful demonstration and guard against unlawful activity.
