MADISON, Wis. — Multiple people called police early Friday morning after hearing several rounds fired on Madison’s south side.
Officers were dispatched to the Britta Parkway and Whenona Drive intersection around 12:20 a.m.
One man told police he heard at least “20-plus gunshots fired in rapid succession,” according to a release from the city’s police department. The same man said he also noticed someone “spraying directly into the air” out of a vehicle driving in the area.
Police received no reports of injuries or property damage. Offices found 35 spent casings in the area, the release said.
