DARLINGTON, Wis. — A Mineral Point man was cited for crashing his truck into a Darlington business last week and driving away from the area.
Officers responded to reports of a hit-and-run crash at at a building inside Piggly Wiggly Plaza around 5:20 p.m. Thursday, according to a release from the city’s police department.
Witnesses said a burgundy truck caused significant damage to the building and drove away after the crash.

Officers found the truck on Main Street. The driver, Robin Fries, 64, faces several charges including driving without insurance, failure to notify police of an accident, hit-and-run and reckless driving, according to the release.
The Darlington Police Department has also referred Fries to the Department of Transportation’s Medical Review Section to have have his driving privilege re-evaluated, the release said.
Police said this is the second business in Darlington that Fries has crashed into. In 2018, he caused around $18,000 in damages to the Dollar General.
