MADISON, Wis. — Badgers fan can buy a t-shirt with the new and improved version of the Duke’s Mayo Bowl trophy to immortalize the postgame celebration gone wrong.
The Badgers beat Wake Forest on Dec. 30 to take home the trophy. The team took it to the locker room to celebrate, but it slipped out of quarterback Graham Mertz’s hand as he was dancing. The mounted crystal football slid off and shattered. The team quickly recovered, grabbing a bottle of Duke’s mayo and taping it in place of the crystal football.
The t-shirt is being sold by Homefield Apparel through a partnership with Duke’s Mayo Bowl. They cost $28 plus shipping. All proceeds will go to Second Harvest Food Bank in Charlotte: a local food pantry near the stadium where the bowl game was played.
Click here to order a shirt. The shirts will be on sale through Jan. 15.
