JANESVILLE, Wis. — The City of Janesville has declared a winter weather emergency ahead of a winter storm that’s expected to bring slushy snow to southern Wisconsin on Monday.
The winter weather emergency goes into effect at 6 p.m. Monday and remains in effect until 5 a.m. Tuesday. During a winter weather emergency, all vehicles must be removed from city streets so crews can clear the roadways of snow and ice.
City officials said main roadways will be maintained as the snow falls Monday afternoon and evening. Crews are not planning a city-wide plowing effort due to mild temperatures in the forecast after the storm.
More details about the winter weather emergency and off-street parking options are available online. Residents who park on the street during the winter weather emergency may be fined $50.
