MADISON, Wis. — Four people were displaced early Tuesday morning after a fire broke out in a northside apartment.
Firefighters were responded to the 1500 block of Troy Drive around 4:30 a.m. after a resident pulled the building’s fire alarm because of thick smoke inside.
When crews arrived they found heavy smoke coming from the unit. Firefighters were able to find the fire and extinguish it before it spread into walls or ceilings.
All of the residents were able to escape the building unharmed.
The Madison Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Team is investigating the cause of the fire. The American Red Cross is helping those displaced.
