MADISON, Wis. — Nearly one-quarter of Wisconsin’s population have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the state Department of Health Services.
More than 2.2 million doses have been administered throughout Wisconsin, including 52,935 in the past day. Health officials said 23.8% of the state’s population have gotten the shot, while 13.9% have fully completed the vaccine series.
For the third day in a row, DHS officials said the seven-day average percent positive by test is at 2.2%. The average positivity rate has remained below 3% for more than a month.
Wisconsin reported 390 new cases of the virus Friday, which is noticeably below the previous day’s count. According to DHS data, the seven-day rolling average of new cases per day has fallen close behind at 386.
The state has reached an all-time total of 571,610 confirmed cases, and fewer than 6,400 cases remain active.
At least 6,562 have died of coronavirus complications since the start of the pandemic, with six new deaths confirmed Friday. An additional 30 people have been hospitalized within the past 24 hours.
With COVID-19 hospitalizations seeing an overall decline in Wisconsin, the state has decided to close the Alternate Care Facility at State Fair Park.
