WINDSOR, Wis. — The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man killed in a farming accident Thursday.
A news release said the accident happened on the 7700 block of Highway 51 in the village of Windsor. According to officials, a man was working on a grain bin auger when it fell and struck him in the abdomen.
Roger Manthe, 46, of DeForest, was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time after arriving.
The medical examiner’s office completed a forensic examination Friday, and preliminary results confirmed Manthe’s death was due to injuries he suffered from the accident.
Further testing is underway, and the death remains under investigation.
