MADISON, Wis. — Police from multiple agencies responded Thursday night to a neighborhood on Madison’s southside after multiple robbery suspects fled from police in a stolen car.
Authorities with the Madison Police Department said a car was reported stolen from a gas station at 401 N. 3rd St around 2:45 p.m. Officers said they spotted the vehicle around 5 p.m. before the suspects drove off, eventually crashing the car into a utility line near Pheasant Ridge Apartments off of Rimrock Road.

Police said the vehicle and its five occupants are believed to be involved in two robberies in the parking lots at the westside Walmart and Hilldale Target. Purses were stolen in both incidents.
All five of the vehicle’s occupants were taken into custody.
No injuries were reported in the robberies or subsequent crash.
Law enforcement officers with the Madison Police Department, Monona Police Department and Dane County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. Their investigation is ongoing.
