MADISON, Wis. — After a year away because of COVID-19, the Dane County Fair will be returning in 2021, organizers announced Wednesday.
The 2021 Dane County Fair will be held July 15-18 at the Alliant Energy Center after discussions between the Board of Directors and local health officials.
Organizers say modifications will be made to make sure the Fair is a safe environment for youth exhibitors, volunteers, partners, staff, vendors and attendees, but have not yet specified what those changes will be.
The Fair’s Board of Directors says Dane County’s progress with COVID vaccinations, with more than 38% of the county having received at least one dose, gave them the confidence to go ahead with plans for this year’s event.
The 2020 fair was canceled last May over coronavirus concerns, but did hold some virtual events last year.
