MADISON, Wis. Police in Madison are investigating after a man ran off with cash from an east side gas station.
According to the Madison Police Department, the robbery happened just before 2 am Tuesday on Cottage Grove Road.
Witnesses told police the suspect went up to the counter with a banana and cash in hand. While the cashier had the register open, the suspect reached over the counter and grabbed money from the till.
Two Kwik Trip employees tried to stop the man before he could run off but were unsuccessful.
