BORDHEAD, Wis. — Brodhead police are investigating a drive by shooting after someone shot at a vehicle Thursday night.
Officers responded to the area of 4th Street and E. 2nd Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Responding officers’ preliminary investigation revealed someone in a vehicle shot several rounds at another vehicle.
Police said they believe the occupant of the suspect vehicle was shooting at a car in front of it, but police do not yet know why.
Brodhead Police Chief Cris Hughes said the department has possibly identified the shooter, but no arrests have been made.
“At this point we believe this was an isolated incident, and therefore there is a not a continued threat to community safety,” Chief Hughes said.
No one was injured in the shooting, but the vehicle the suspect shot at was hit.
Authorities said their investigation is ongoing. The Green County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol Traffic Reconstruction Unit and the Brodhead Fire Department are helped with the response and ongoing investigation.
