SUN PRAIRIE, Wis.– The Boys and Girls Club of Dane County hosted its first of three community vaccination clinics on Saturday.
Fitchburg Family Pharmacy set aside 1,500 doses of its Johnson and Johnson supply for these clinics. Students at the University of Wisconin-Madison School of Pharmacy are administering the shots.

Appointments are available to everyone 18-years-old or older on a first come, first serve basis.
Chief Operating Officer Sarah Ghee said the purpose of the clinic is to reduce barriers and increase access to the COVID-19 vaccine.
“It’s meeting people where they are so that they have the option to go and get vaccinated close to where they live,” Ghee said.
Fitchburg Family Pharmacy Owner Thad Schumacher said going out in the community is essential for vaccinating as many people as possible.
“If we can bring the vaccine to them, one, they’ll be more able to access it, and two, it’ll be more readily available to them,” Schumacher said.
