MADISON, Wis. — More than 3.5 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered throughout Wisconsin to date, according to the latest numbers from the state Department of Health Services.
Health officials said 24,673 people have been newly vaccinated in the past day alone.
A total of 2,190,652 have gotten at least one dose of vaccine, which is 37.6% of the state. Nearly 25% have completed the vaccine series, an amount which consists of 1,441,345 people. Nearly one-third of residents in Dane County have been fully vaccinated.
The DHS has instructed vaccinators in the state to pause the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine as the U.S. investigates reports of blood clotting.
The seven-day average percent positive by test has remained at 3.8%, an average which has remained below 4% since Feb. 8.
Wisconsin reported 922 new cases of the virus, a jump from Monday’s case count. The seven-day rolling average has gradually increased as well, with the average at 794 as of Tuesday. An all-time total of 586,632 cases have been confirmed, and more than 8,600 cases are still active.
Ten more people have died of coronavirus complications, which puts the statewide death toll at 6,690. DHS officials said 70 more people have been hospitalized within the past day, which more than doubles Monday’s hospitalizations.
