MADISON, Wis. — More than 2.5 million people in Wisconsin have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the state Department of Health Services.
A total of 2,508,944 residents have received at least one dose as of Friday, which is 43.1% of the state’s population. Health officials said 1,965,655 Wisconsinites have fully completed the vaccine series, or 33.8% of the state.
In Dane County, more than half of 16- and 17-year-olds have gotten at least one dose.
Over 4.4 million doses have been administered throughout the state, including 39,529 in the past day.
Wisconsin reported 789 new cases of the virus, which is slightly below Thursday’s case count. The seven-day rolling average stayed about the same at 622. The state has reached an all-time total of 598,147 confirmed cases, and 9,079 cases are active.
According to DHS data, the seven-day average percent positive by test has remained at 3.2%.
Eight more people have died of coronavirus complications, which puts the statewide death toll at 6,823. An additional 52 have been hospitalized within the past 24 hours.
