JANESVILLE, Wis. — Police have arrested a 16-year-old suspected of shooting and injuring another 16-year-old.
According to police, officers were called to Mercy Hospital on Friday afternoon for a 16-year-old male being treated for a gunshot wound.
According to the report, police discovered the gunshot victim was with two friends in the 200 block of Linn Street, with no one else home when one of the friends, a 16-year-old, was handling a handgun and it went off. The bullet passed though the victims hip area and through a TV and window.
The officers investigation led to a located scene of the crime, but no handgun was found.
They arrested the suspect, and the teen is being held at the Rock County Youth Services facing charges of first degree recklessly endangering safety, and possession of a weapon under the age of 18.
Police said the victim was treated and released from the hospital.
