MADISON, Wis. — Madison police say they were called to the city’s north side Monday night after a man apparently shot himself in the leg.
Officers were called to the 3000 block of Webb Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. Monday after getting a report of a single gunshot and a man laying in a parking lot.
Once they got on scene, officers found the man with a gunshot wound in his left thigh. They helped apply a tourniquet on the man’s leg and found a gun with a shell casing nearby. The man’s injury was not considered life-threatening and he was taken to the hospital.
Police say their initial investigation determined the gunshot was self-inflicted, but they are continuing to investigate.
