BELOIT, Wis. — The City of Beloit has removed its social distancing and mask requirements, effective immediately.
The Beloit City Council made the decision Monday night in light of new recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention which eased mask-wearing guidance for fully vaccinated people.
The news comes days after Rock County public health officials lifted the countywide mask mandate.
Residents who have not yet been vaccinated are still being urged to follow the CDC’s guidance.
The release said masks are no longer needed in public spaces but are still required in city-owned facilities. Masks may also be required at city-sponsored activities.
