MADISON, Wis. — Nearly 40% of Wisconsin residents have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Health Services.
A total of 2,318,740 people have been fully vaccinated, or 39.8% of the state’s population. Health officials said 2,659,706 have received at least one dose of vaccine, which is 45.7% of Wisconsin.
In Dane County, nearly 25% of 12- to 15-year-olds have gotten their first dose just one week into the age group’s eligibility.
More than 4.9 million doses have been administered throughout the state, including 19,442 in the past day.

Wisconsin reported 383 new cases of the virus , which is below Tuesday’s case count and the seven-day rolling average of 394. Wisconsin has reached an all-time total of 607,138 confirmed cases, and 6,709 of those cases remain active.
The seven-day average percent positive by test has stayed about the same at 2.8%.
Five more people have died of coronavirus complications, which puts the statewide death toll at 6,976. The DHS said 71 more people were also hospitalized in the past 24 hours.
