MADISON, Wis. — A hit-and-run investigation led to the arrest of a Middleton man suspected of drunk driving Wednesday night.
Officers with the Madison Police Department said they were dispatched to the 2300 block of Packers Avenue around 7 p.m. for a report of a hit-and-run crash.
When police got to the scene, the victim said they were rear ended as they turned into a private lot. The victim gave police a detailed description of the vehicle, and officers found it roughly a mile away.
Police said they spotted the suspect, 42-year-old Keith McCaslin, trying to change the tire on his vehicle. Responding officers reportedly noticed impairment and arrested McCaslin on suspicion of fourth-offense OWI.
McCaslin’s blood alcohol content was 3.5 times the legal limit, according to an incident report.
