MADISON, Wis. — After a chilly Friday, even colder temperatures are expected overnight. This will likely lead to areas of frost Saturday morning in southern Wisconsin; a hard freeze is possible for areas well north of Madison.
As skies become mostly clear overnight, temperatures will drop to the middle 30s for much of southern Wisconsin. Areas north of Wisconsin Dells could see temperatures drop close to 30 degrees. A Freeze Warning is in effect from midnight until 7AM for Juneau and Adams counties, and a Frost Advisory is in effect from midnight until 7AM for Green, Iowa, Grant, Lafayette, Crawford, Richland, Sauk, Columbia, Dodge, Jefferson, and Dane counties.
It will be a good night to bring in any sensitive potted plants. If sensitive plants are already in the ground, a drop cloth or sheet can be used to help keep them protected from frost.
