MADISON, Wis. — The seven-day average of daily COVID-19 cases continues to drop in Wisconsin, according to the latest data from the state Department of Health Services.
As of Friday, the seven-day rolling average of new cases per day decreased to 261. Despite this, the DHS said 63 out of Wisconsin’s 72 counties still have a high case activity level.
According to DHS data, the seven-day average percent positive by test has gone down slightly to 2.1%.

The state has reached an all-time total of 609,787 confirmed cases.
DHS officials said 7,053 have died of coronavirus complications since the start of the pandemic, with the seven-day average of new deaths per day increasing slightly to 3.
As of Friday, 2,766,155 residents have received at least one dose of vaccine, which is 47.5% of the state’s population. Health officials said 2,427,513 people have completed the vaccine series, or 41.7% of Wisconsin.

Over 1,000 University of Wisconsin System nursing and pharmacy students have earned tuition credit for helping administer doses at COVID-19 vaccine sites.
A total of 5,129,226 doses have been administered throughout the state, including 13,560 in the past day.
