MONROE, Wis.– There’s a new item on the menu at Green County’s Annual Breakfast on the Farm.
Besides the traditional bacon and eggs, COVID-19 vaccines were also offered this year.
“It’s the responsible thing to do,” Chair Craig Kamholz said.
The Green County Ag Chest partnered with Green County Public Health and the Monroe Clinic to bring a pop-up COVID-19 vaccine clinic to Breakfast on the Farm.

“We just want to make it as easy as possible for people to get vaccinated,” Green County Public Health educator Bridget Craker said.
Half of the people living in Green County got at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, as of Friday. More than 45 percent finished the series, according to Wisconsin DHS.
Green County Public Health and the Monroe Clinic are trying to reach the people not yet included in that data.
“We’ve had nurses go to the farms in Green County, having nurses go to businesses directly and vaccinate their employees, and you know, working with other community partners to coordinate clinics like this,” Craker said.
Clinics like this, where hundreds of people pass through the event with the time to take 15 minutes out of their morning.
“Green County is very agricultural focused. So, we knew that there would be a lot of people that would be here today that perhaps work during the week, and wouldn’t have the opportunity to come into the clinic,” Monroe Clinic Marketing and Communications Consultant Rebecca Bordner said.
Kamholz said he got vaccinated today for the safety of himself and his community. He said getting this done now means more events like Breakfast on the Farm can return to normal later.
“It’s time. We need to move forward. We need to get the country going again, and every part that everybody does, every little part is going to help us get to our ultimate goal,” Kamholz said.
