MADISON, Wis. — The positivity rate for new COVID-19 tests in Wisconsin dropped below 2% over Memorial Day, according to the state Department of Health Services.
Health officials said the seven-day average percent positive by test was at 1.9% Monday. As of Tuesday, the average has fallen to 1.7%.
The last time the seven-day average has been that low was toward the beginning of the pandemic on March 10, 2020.

The seven-day rolling average of new cases per day is at 179, which is also low compared to previous stages of the pandemic. The state has reached an all-time total of 610,224 confirmed cases.
DHS officials said 7,094 Wisconsinites have died of coronavirus complications to date, with the seven-day average of new deaths per day at 3.
According to the Wisconsin Hospital Association, the state has registered the lowest number of COVID hospitalizations since the WHA first began collecting the data.
As of Tuesday, 2,786,897 residents have received at least one dose of vaccine, which is 47.9% of the state’s population. Health officials said 2,444,549 people have completed the vaccine series, or 42% of Wisconsin.
A total of 5,166,869 doses have been administered throughout the state since December.
