MADISON, Wis. — Nearly 2.8 million Wisconsinites have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the state Department of Health Services.
Health officials said 2,791,752 people have gotten at least one dose, which is 47.9% of the state’s population. More than three-quarters of eligible Dane County residents are at least partially vaccinated against COVID.
As of Wednesday, 2,251,794 people have completed the vaccine series, or 42.1% of Wisconsin. A total of 5,178,712 vaccine doses have gone into arms throughout the state, including 10,110 in the past day.

DHS officials said the seven-day rolling average of new cases per day dropped to 162, the lowest average in over a year. The state has reached an all-time total of 610,400 confirmed cases.
The seven-day average percent positive by test has remained below 2%, with Wednesday’s average at 1.7%.
Health officials said 7,110 have died of coronavirus complications since the start of the pandemic, with the seven-day average of new deaths remaining at 3.
