FITCHBURG, Wis.– A 9-year-old girl from Fitchburg has turned the lemons life gave her into lemonade and the lemonade into charity proceeds for the Dane County Humane Society.
Meghan Hartman had been raising money since the end of May by doing housework for neighbors and other tasks when robbers broke into her house on June 2, stealing her earnings among other things. Today, she’s hoping to earn that money back by hosting a lemonade stand at her house.
“I really love animals, so I want to help them get a good home,” Hartman said.
At the time of the break-in, she had earned $25 out of her $250 goal. She raised $187 on Sunday.
If you would like to help her reach her goal, you can donate on Venmo to her dad, Dr. Bill Hartman, @william-hartman-18.
